LITTLETON'S disappointing season in Division One of the Midland Combination continued over the Easter weekend when they slumped to a couple of home defeats.
On Saturday they lost a close game with Northfield 1-0 going down to a 20th minute goal and, two days later, they were well beaten 4-1 by high flying Coton Green.
Lady Luck was definitely not on Littleton's side as their highly rated goalkeeper Tom Shepherd was rushed to hospital just before kick-off.
Peter Sollis, who was unable to play due to an injury. was forced to take over between the sticks.
And, having played into a strong wind in the first half, they were were dismayed to find out that it had virtually ceased when they came out for the second half.
However, Monday's hosts battled all the way but, just when it looked as though they would get through to half-time without conceding, Green netted twice in the final three minutes.
The Five Acres outfit pulled a goal after 57 minutes when Ryan Scott found the net but the visitors went straight up the other end and restored their two-goal advantage.
Harshly A rather harshly awarded penalty gave Coton Green their final goal 20 minutes from time.
The reserves lost 5-1 at Racing Club Warwick on Saturday and play the reverse game this weekend when the senior side visits Stockingford.
It wasn't such a happy weekend for Pershore Town who lost 2-0 at home to Loughborough University on Saturday before picking up a Premier Division point from a 1-1 draw on Monday night with Castle Vale.
Evesham United A and Shipston Excelsior, who meet at Evesham High School on Saturday (3), had differing fortunes.
The Robins lost 2-1 at Knowle Reserves on Monday when the London Roaders followed up a 2-0 defeat of Kenilworth Town KH with a 1-1 draw at home to GSA and Smethwick Town.
The latter provide Evesham with midweek action on Tuesday, while Shipston travel to Henley Forest 24 hours later.
