IT'S just one big game after another for Evesham United who can take an even firmer grip on matters at the top of Southern League Division One Midlands with victory over Stourport Swifts at St George's Lane on Saturday.
After a hugely successful Easter weekend that brought maximum points and a nine-point lead, the Robins will be keen to collect three more points from their Worcestershire rivals who have enjoyed an upturn in fortunes since Neil Hunt took over in mid-season.
Swifts lost 4-1 to Chasetown on Monday when they were beset with injuries and unavailability and Hunt, who had a short spell as assistant to Paul West, will be be eager to put one over on his home town club.
"It's yet another cup final for us and you can be sure that Neil will have his players up for it," said United boss Paul West.
"It's going to be another hard game but if the players show the same character they showed on Monday then I won't have any complaints."
Complaints West also didn't have any complaints about Gary Hay's sending-off at Bishops Cleeve - a dismissal that will rule him out of three of Evesham's last five games.
"It was unacceptable what he did and he knows it," the manager declared. "However, it made us roll up our sleeves and we played some good stuff and deserved to win.
"It was the same on Saturday in difficult conditions when, apart from a few nervy minutes late on, we never looked in any trouble.
"We couldn't have asked for the weekend to go better but there is still some work to do starting on Saturday."
West will need to assess the fitness of Danny Scheppel and Michael Hayden ahead of the Stourport game while also having to select a side for a league game without Nathan Vaughan for the first time this season.
The goalkeeper flies out to Jamaica today for a week's holiday and the experienced Dave Adey will step in for one match.
Hayden is confident his knee problem will have settled down by weekend but Scheppel's gashed knee makes the midfielder a doubt.
