AN IMPROMPTU fun run took place in Bourton-on-the-Water on Easter Sunday, organised by Bourton Roadrunners, to make the most of the excellent weather.
A good selection of adults and children turned out to run the approximately one-mile course and receive their easter eggs, courtesy of Somerfield.
Event organiser, Norman Lane, said: "It was arranged last minute but I was really pleased with the turnout and hopefully we can make it into an annual event."
Race winner by a clear margin in a time of seven minutes and two seconds was 14-year-old Lewis Gray who was followed home by Kieren Shoemark (12) in 8.04 and Finn Shoemark (10) in 8.55.
Keeping up with her brothers' top performances, eight-year-old Ava Shoemark finished first girl in 9.41.
Age group winners: Libby Herbert - Under 5 girl; Emily Franks - Under 8 girl; Natalie Lane Under 13 girl; Sophie Hinchliffe - Under 18 girl.
For the boys the youngest competitor was two-year-old Isaac Goodwill, who may have had a little assistance!
Other winners: Under 5 boy - Jacob Herbert; under 7 boy - Daniel Bufton; under 10 boy - Elliot Lockey; Under 16 boy - Conor Shoemark.
Nicola Franks was the first senior lady.
Just two brave Bourton Roadrunners faced the wind at the White Horse Easter 10K when times were slow due to the conditions.
Chris Bence finished in 50.19 and Ali Lane 45.33.
