SKIPPER Steve Lutz returns to Evesham United's side this weekend determined to ensure the Robins get their British Gas Southern League Division One Midlands title quest back on track.

The midfielder, who has played a huge part in his side's rise to the top of the table, has missed the last three matches through suspension. And, although Evesham didn't lose in his absence they dropped four crucial points.

"We've got another couple of games over Easter and if we get through them then we will have a better idea as to what we will need to do to see off Leamington's challenge," the captain declared.

"Too many of the players are thinking about the title too much - I don't think people realise that we are a young team and only three or four of us have been in a situation like this before.

Level head "We've just got to get our heads down, keep a level head, enjoy it and just take each game as it comes and I can't see why we can't win the title. We are confident but not over confident," Lutz added.

The Robins, who have won just once in five games, boast a six-point lead over Leamington who have eight games left as opposed to United's seven.

That figure will be down to five before The Brakes kick off at Stourbridge on Easter Monday with Paul West's side gearing up for a 12 noon start at Bishops Cleeve.

That game against a team that has won all three previous meetings in the Southern League follows Saturday's trip to Romulus, who play at the home of Sutton Coldfield Town and who still harbour hopes of a place in the play-offs.

Coles Lane has never been a happy hunting ground for the Robins and, like the game against Cleeve, history must be reversed if Evesham aren't to see their championship chances dented even further.

Lutz is likely to be joined in the starting 11 by Danny Scheppel whose knee problem should permit him to play at least on Saturday and West is happy to see two of his experienced men available again.

"Any team would miss two players like Danny and Steve who have scored more than 20 goals between them," the manager admitted.

However, it's up front where West voiced his concern at his side's lack of recent firepower.

"I would be lying if i said that i didn't think that there is a problem," the United chief admitted. "We need a bit more desire up front but it's not just those two who need to improve their game, "Mark (Owen) and Gary (Hay) are deemed to be my 'big players' and I expect a little more from them. It's not a time to be over critical but the situation needs addr-essing.

"It's a big big weekend for the club and what we need is a performance. I have got complete faith in the squad of players, we are still in the driving seat but we have got to start winning matches again."
