FIFTY-SIX fished the penultimate round of the MFL's Winter League when all anglers caught fish on pole and pellet.

However, when the wind got up, some anglers switched to maggot feeder and continued to catch.

Andy Pollard showed what a fine angler he is with a superb ton plus weight off Windmill Lake, fishing pole and pellet on the deck for the whole match.

Pete Rice just held on to second place, fishing pole with maggot at eight metres.

Evesham Jubilee Society

MEMBERS travelled to the canal at Blackpole, Worcester last Sunday morning fishing for the Charlie Thompson Cup in the latest Stillwater Shield match.

First on the day was Phil Seedhouse who fished breadpunch down the track to catch roach and skimmers to weigh in 3.0.8. Second place went to Stu Thompson (2.15.0) and third was Doug Smith (1.13.0).

This Sunday the Jubilee Fishery is the venue for the Last Chance Cup - the final club match of the season when the draw is at 8am.

The fishery continues its break from pleasure sessions and re-opens on Tuesday, April 1.

Evesham and District Association

THE Ray Woods Open was fished on Town and Common Road last Saturday when Rob Badham clinched a place in this year's Wychavon Championships.

The winner netted a mixture of carp, roach, tench and chub to narrowly edge out closest rival Howard Kaye.

Evesham WMC

THE final match of the season was fished at Drakes Broughton where Stuart Robinson had two carp on the pole for 7.5.0.

Rick Huxley netted a few small roach for 0.11.0 and Nat Prothorough and Graham Williams both weighed in 0.1.0.

The presentation will take place on April 19 at the club and working parties will start in next month.

Evesham and District Disabled Club

FOURTEEN members met at Jim's Lake for the second match of the Fiesta Cakes Spring League.

Fishing was good and only three anglers failed to catch with Cyril Thompson topping the weights with a healthy 70.12.0 which contained the day's heaviest fish - a carp weighing 6.8.0.

Wayne Panting was runner-up with 55.0.0, third was Clive Leeming (31.8.0) and fourth was Mick Leeming (29.12.0).
