THE Wheelers' midweek run was taken by John Percival to Shipston-on-Stour.

Leaving the Vale, the group made its way out towards Pebworth before turning with the wind into Long Marston, Lower Quinton, Crimscote, Newbold and on to Shipston. They returned into a freshening breeze through Dorsington, Pebworth, The Littletons and Badsey and covered 48 miles.

Sunday's run had the peleton anticipating some serious climbing as Steve McGrath led them into a strong headwind along the Cheltenham Road.

The route to the Cotswolds took in Aston Somerville and Wormington before the villages of Condicote and Longborough were visited as the peleton sped through the countryside with a fresh breeze at their backs.

Moreton-in-Marsh soon came into view and, after the coffee stop, the 27 Wheelers cycled into Moreton and back home via Chipping Campden where the group split into two on the way to covering 53 miles.

It's the annual Evesham Wheelers Road Race on Sunday starting at 9.30am with race headquarters at Inkberrow Village Hall.
