Brockworth 2, Bourton Rovers 1
TWO defensive errors gifted a hard working and physical Brockworth side a crucial three points in Saturday's relegation battle.
Bourton got off to the perfect start when Mark Payne latched on to a tenth minute through ball through ball and neatly lobbed the keeper.
The lead could have been doubled when Mark Gainford went clean through only to see his shot well saved.
Brockworth threw everything at the visitors and equalised just before half-time when Andrew Herbert was left wrong-footed by a strike from 30 yards.
Both teams pressed forward in search of a winner but, despite Bourton having the better of the chances, the home team snatched a second goal five minutes from time when Herbert failed to connect properly with a punch from a corner.
Manager Paul Heming commented: "It's very frustrating at the moment as we're losing games through individual errors.
"This was a must win game for us and it's going to be very hard work to avoid relegation now. If we are to be relegated then I'm afraid we have to face facts and realise we have simply not been good enough."
Other result: Bourton Rovers Res 0, Brockworth Res 4.
