Littleton 2, Newhall Utd 2
ON A wild afternoon at Five Acres where a very strong wind and firm surface made good football difficult, both teams did their best and a draw was a fair result.
The Midland Combination Division One visitors made the early running and went ahead after 12 minutes when Lee Strong converted from close-range.
The home side took the lead on the half-hour mark when a right wing cross from Joe McKeon was headed in from close-range by Jon Gregory.
However, the lead was again shortlived as Luke Hardwick equalised when an attempted clearance hit a fellow defender and landed at his feet.
The second half saw Littleton make most of the running with Faulkner Grant Pinkney, and Phil Haines, who was making his 200th appearance, getting a grip in midfield.
The nearest they came to scoring was in injury-time when a run from Matt Homans saw him make some 50 yards into the Newhall penalty area but his eventual shot flew just over.
The Reserves bowed out of the Evesham Hospital Cup losing 5-0 to Bretforton.
Pershore Town lost by the odd goal at Premier Division leaders Highgate United after Tom Coley had given Ian Ford's side the lead at half-time.
In Division Three, Evesham United A lost 2-1 at home to Austin S & S, while Shipston thumped Knowle Reserves 5-0.
Littleton are scheduled to visit Oldbury Athletic tomorrow night, while Pershore have a top flight visit to Barnt Green Spartak 24 hours later.
Littleton are home to Droitwich Spa on Saturday, while the Reserves visit Kenilworth. Shipston play host to Castle Vale Reserves, while both Pershore and Evesham are without a game.
