LEAP Day baby Freddie Keighley has joined a winning team.
Freddie, who weighed in at 8lb at Cheltenham General Hospital last Friday, is the first born child of Cotswold racehorse trainer Martin Keighley and his wife Belinda, both 33.
His entry into the world gave the couple double cause for celebration last weekend.
Only a few hours after becoming a dad, Martin had his fifth winner of the season when Rodrigo Gonzalez won the aptly-named Betfred.com Novices Hurdle at Kempton Park.
The horse, which the couple trained at their Condicote stables and was ridden by local jockey Warren Marston, won by a neck at 4-1 last Saturday. The couple have asked Warren to be Freddie's godfather.
Martin, who is in his second season as a professional trainer after three years training point-to-pointers, said: "It was an amazing 48 hours "We had a few pints at The Plough in Ford to celebrate. It was a good night, Saturday," he added.
Freddie's middle name is David in memory of trainer David Nicholson who died in 2006. It was in David's yard in Condicote that local girl and keen horsewoman Belinda first met her husband-to-be 17 years ago.
Belinda, who works at Cheltenham Racecourse, said at the couple's home in Toddington this week: "I'm on cloud nine at the moment."
Martin is clearly hoping for big things from little Freddie.
"He might be the stable jockey one day," he joked.
