BLUE skies and a keen wind greeted the opening of the race season at Rissington where the paddock was buzzing with activity.
There was a great turnout in the Cadets with many new faces with Stratford's Edw-ard Lord becoming the fastest novice.
Junior TKM was also well supported with new faces but also some of last year's Cadets moving up.
Anthony Wynell-Mayow from Tewkesbury finished sixth in heat one, first in heats two and three giving him pole position for the final.
He Anthony held on to first place for the first eight laps and then executed a great move on the final bend to take the chequered flag by a mere 0.10 seconds.
Minimax driver Matthew George won all three heats securing him pole position for the final.
Chipping Campden's Callum Hughes came second in all three heats and Chris Shaw came third.
It was very close racing throughout each lap with less than a kart space bet-ween them. Disaster struck for George just two laps from the end allowing Hughes to secure the win from Shaw.
Senior Rotax was well represented with a full grid and it was action packed thr-oughout all three heats with nail-biting overtaking mano-euvres taking place on various parts of the circuit.
Heat one was won by Nathan Lawley, followed by Tewkesbury's Matt Dittman who had to settle for second in the final behind the first heat victor.
It was great to see the Rotax 177 returning to the circuit for their second visit. Heats one and two were won by Danny Cobb from Gloucester and heat three by Mark Jeffries who won the final and also recorded the fastest lap.
Senior TKM heat one was won by Matthew Cardwell, heat two by Guy Tolley from Worcester and heat three by Joe Fox.
These were followed by another nail-biting final with Tolley the winner and again securing the fastest lap time.
The Junior Rotax heats were won by Rob Smith, Charlotte Manton and Gloucester driver Guy Davis.
Pole for the final was secured by Smith who held his lead until the finish while clocking the fastest lap time.
In a well represented 125 grid, Scott Allen secured a win in heats one and three, with Kenneth Andrews winning the middle race.
Allen was on pole position, followed by Andrews and Oliver Wilding and a very fast and intense final resulted in first place for Scott and again the winner recorded the fastest lap.
Reigning 250cc champion, Mark Powell, dominated all three heats and the final.
Daniel Thornell came second in heats one and two with Andrew Dean runner-up in the third.
As the revs peaked at the start of the final, Powell had a fantastic start closely followed by Thornell and Burford's Rod De Sa.
As the flag fell it was Powell first, and fastest lap, followed by Thornell, Dean and De Sa.
The next round of the Club Championships take place on Saturday and Sunday, April 5 and 6.
