THERE might have been a First-Class umpire officiating in the shape of Andy Hicks but there was nothing first-class about Temple Grafton's batting!

Richard Wood and Richard Cooper gave Ashton a flying start in the opening match of two in the WCB Indoor League and Temple's bowlers were further put to the sword when Will Archer arrived at the wicket.

A season's highest score of 146-1 was posted and the chasers made a fine start as Liam Killian and Carl Page had reduced the target by 30 after only two overs.

However, that was a good at it got as Mike Banks found his length and only Killian showed any know-how to stay in as the innings closed on 65-5.

Ady Witts bowled an unbelievable maiden over to help restrict Elmley Castle to just 18 runs off the first four overs in their game against Evesham Casuals.

Andy Fisher was also on song with the ball taking two wickets in the space of his opening seven deliveries to reduce Elmley to 44-3.

Skipper Ian Woodford and Will Tyrell added 40 but slick fielding left Casuals requiring just 88 for victory and they didn't waste any time.

Jon Gregory and Mike Powell scored 28 off the first four overs before blasting 35 off the next two leaving Witts and Fisher to complete the win with three overs to spare.
