Blockley Ladies 3, Dursley 1
BLOCKLEY defeated the leaders of Severn Hockey League Division Two last weekend thanks to an excellent team display.
The hosts started well with accurate passing and solid tackling but Dursley are made of stern stuff and they took the lead after a swift break.
However, the teams were level by half-time after Kerry Jackson found the net with a cracking penalty corner strike.
Sam Edmonds worked tirelessly alongside Jane Rickey and Frankie Hope in support of the forwards while Sally Beale and Charlotte Hall stuck to their task in midfield.
It was Alice Drinkwater who netted to make it 2-1 and a third goal from Jo Peachey sealed the points and left the winners in confident mood ahead of this weekend's double-header.
Evesham High School is the venue on Saturday for a game against St Gregory's (9am) and it's the same venue the next morning at 10.30 when Lansdown are the visitors.
