Aylesbury Utd 2, Evesham Utd 1
EVESHAM'S proud ten-match unbeaten sequence ended in controversial fashion.
The Robins were in total control until a referee's assistant awarded a penalty three minutes before half-time when Steve Lutz was adjudged to have handled on the line.
The mark on the skipper's shirt was evidence that the decision was wrong but it was a foul on Danny Hodnett that went against the visitors that caused the uproar.
There was also a suspicion of a foul on Nathan Vaughan when the free-kick was sent over but James Faulkner made no mistake with the penalty to make it 1-1 at half-time.
The recalled Simon Fitter had earlier sent over the 21st minute free-kick that Gary Hay nodded in and Mark Hands then saw a header cleared off the line as the ten-man Robins looked to double their lead.
The winning goal arrived two minutes into the second half when the Evesham defence failed to deal with a corner and former player Mike Feely bundled the ball past Vaughan.
Evesham's ten men battled gallantly and Mark Owen, Steve Luckett and Daniel Lennon all had shots saved.
