WINCHCOMBE town councillors are due to discuss the establishment of a school safety zone outside one of the town's primary school at their meeting on Wednesday.
The zone outside Winchcombe Abbey Primary School in Back Lane would include flashing lights to warn drivers to slow down to 20mph and zigzag lines to indicate they were entering a school safety zone.
The proposal for the safety zone was raised by town councillor Pookie Shaw, who had spoken to a local lollipop lady.
"She said how scared she felt and I said I would mention it," said Cllr Shaw.
"Highways said because of the speed bumps on Back Lane it wasn't necessary but people are still driving at 30mph and we want to get something done about it," she added.
"As a parent and a grandparent I will be pushing for this safety zone to be put in," said Cllr Shaw.
Sally Gerken, deputy head at the school, said the matter was being dealt with by the school governors and they did not wish to comment.
