THE headteacher of a north Cotswold primary school that has been plagued by a spate of minor vandalism in recent months has appealed to offenders to leave his school alone.
John Jones, head of Bourton Primary School, said: "It's not a particularly big problem. It's just ongoing and we would like them to stop."
The latest incident happened last weekend, when a couple of fence slats were broken and some fence panels, worth about £45, were taken.
But Mr Jones said that the vandalism has been ongoing, mainly at weekends, since last September.
"We had a fence damaged in September and in October somebody got on the site and did a bit of damage with a fire extinguisher.
"It's never very severe but it's annoying. It's the nuisance factor and the time and cost of repairs," said Mr Jones.
"I've no idea who's doing this. I would imagine it's children," he said, adding that the vast majority of children in the village were very well behaved.
"One positive thing is the Cotswold School and our school are running holiday clubs so hopefully there will be something for children to do," said Mr Jones.
Police are investigating the latest incident and appealed to anyone with information to contact them on 0845 090 1234 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
