THERE will be 16 referees on the pitch at Trinity Guild's ground at Baginton near Coventry on Sunday, April 13.
A team from the Warwickshire Society of Referees will be assembled to take on a County President's XV assembled by Warwickshire president Richard Wormell in a game to raise money for the Warwickshire and Nor-thamptonshire Air Ambulance.
Wormell, an active Warwickshire Society referee, has nominated the Air Ambulance, based at Coventry Airport near Trinity Guild's ground, as his charity during his two-year presidency and has asked all Warwickshire clubs to stage at least one fund-raising event.
The county Referees' Society field an XV several times each season and they have agreed to take the field at Trinity Guild as their contribution to the fund-raising.
They will take on a team of golden oldies, aged 35 or over, assembled by Wormell from Warwickshire clubs and beyond.
The game will be preceded by a junior tournament at Trinity Guild and various fund-raising activities throughout the day including a pig roast.
