Littleton 0, Fairfield Villa 2

LITTLETON appear to have hit a brick wall at the moment as, try as they might, they can't seem to get a result and Saturday's reverse their fourth in succession.

Midland Combination Division One opponents Fairfield are a workmanlike and robust team who were too strong for Littleton's young side.

The Five Acres outfit started well and almost took the lead on five minutes when Karl Scott got through but his eventual shot was scrambled clear.

They did get the ball in the net after 15 minutes when Joe McKeon headed in a right wing cross but the goal was disallowed for pushing by a teammate.

Villa were also creating chances and they took one seven minutes before the break when Adam Davis struck home a powerful shot from 18 yards.

The second half followed a similar pattern with Littleton working hard, but making little impression.

Their best effort came from Grant Pinkney whose shot was charged down as they committed more and more men forward only to be hit by a second goal five minutes from time.

There was some good news for the club however as the reserves won their local derby against Evesham.

Goals from Shaun Fensome and two from Rob Andrew were just enough to win a close game 3-2 after the visitors were forced to play the last half-an-hour with ten men after a serious injury to Mark King after all their substitutes had been used.

The first team are at Earlswood on Saturday while the second string play host to Kenilworth.

Pershore Town drew 2-2 in their Premier Division clash at Walsall Wood, while Shipston Excelsior won by the only goal in their third division match at Kenilworth Town KH.

Pershore play host to Brereton Social this weekend when Evesham A visit Chelmsley Town and Shipston face a trip to Racing Club Warwick.
