GRANTS totalling £10,600 for local organisations have been agreed by members of Chipping Norton Town Council.
Councillors agreed 22 grants ranging from £3,500 for Chipping Norton Museum of Local History to £100 for groups such as the 6th Chipping Norton Scout Group and Friends of the ACE Centre.
Other grants included £1,300 for the theatre, £800 for the Chipping Norton office of West Oxfordshire Citizens Advice Bureau and £800 for the town's silver band.
Mayor Gina Burrows said councillors agreed at their meeting last week that it "anomalous" for the council to grant funds at the end of the year.
"We are trying to move it forward a bit," said Cllr Burrows, adding that the next closing date for grant applications would be in September.
"We didn't give everybody all they asked for but we have been as fair as possible," said Cllr Burrows.
