An Audi driver died following a crash in Bishop's Cleeve, despite the best efforts of bystanders and paramedics.
A man in his late 50s died at the scene following a collision between his Audi A1 and a parked silver Chrysler.
Gloucestershire Constabulary was alerted of the two-vehicle crash on Kayte Lane at around 10:38am on Sunday, August 7.
A police spokesperson said: "Officers attended the scene where a black Audi A1 had collided with a parked silver Chrysler.
"Despite the best efforts of paramedics and the air ambulance, the driver of the Audi, a man in his late 50s and from the Bishop's Cleeve area, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
"His next of kin have been informed."
They added: "Police would like to thank the members of the public for their help at the scene.
"The road was closed for a number of hours while collision investigators conducted their investigation and the road has since been opened."
Officers investigating the incident have since launched an appeal for witnesses.
Police are urging anyone who has not yet spoken to officers that may have witnessed the collision, or assisted at the scene, to make contact.
They are also keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage.
