A luxury Cotswold hotel and restaurant has gone up for sale.
Corse Lawn House Hotel is on the market for £2.5 million, bringing an end to almost half a century of ownership.
For 44 years the hotel has been owned and run by the Hine family, producers of Hine Cognac.
But now, owner Baba Hine has decided to call it a day and enjoy retirement.
She said: “Since purchasing the hotel in 1978, my husband and I worked very hard to build a reputable business and have continuously made improvements over the years.
“After my dear husband Denis passed, I almost gave up, but I realised that this is really the only life I have known, and I love it.
“Seventeen years later it is finally time for someone new to take the reins.
“Corse Lawn Hotel will always hold a special place in my heart.”
Under the Hine’s ownership the hotel received multiple awards, including AA Top 200 rated hotel, Country Hotel of the Year in the Good Hotel Guide, OpenTable Winner of Diners Choice 2016, AA Award of Notable Wine List 2019 and Certificate of Excellence in TripAdvisor.
The 18-bedroom Grade II listed building, originally built in the mid-1700s as a former coaching inn, sits behind an ornamental lake and is surrounded by over 10 acres of landscaped gardens and fields.
The hotel, north of Gloucester, also contains a bistro and bar for 40 covers, a restaurant for 40 covers, a garden room for 40 covers, and two private dining rooms seating 14 and 32 guests each.
Furthermore, the hotel also boasts an indoor swimming pool with changing rooms, a hardcourt tennis court, a croquet lawn, staff accommodation, a three-bed detached owners’ bungalow, beer and wine cellars, and extensive parking.
The property is being marked by commercial real estate specialists Colliers.
Peter Brunt, consultant in the hotel agency team at Colliers, said: “Future owners of Corse Lawn House will benefit greatly from not just the leisure trade but also from the many commercial businesses in Tewkesbury, Gloucester and Cheltenham.
“The hotel is acclaimed by many and has its fair share of repeat customers year after year. This is a very exciting opportunity for a new investor to come in and hopefully hit the ground running.
“We are thrilled to be instructed on such a brilliant property and look forward to seeing a strong pool of interested parties.”
