Chipping Norton Labour Party members showed their support for Ukraine as a town councillor delivered aid to Poland.
On Saturday lunchtime, party members gathered in the town centre to call for an end to the conflict.
Dove posters in the colour of the Ukrainian flag were handed out as the Party promoted the upcoming Concert for Ukraine at St Kenelm’s Church.
Steve Akers, Chair of Chipping Norton Labour Party, said: "We stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and all of those brave Russians who are opposing Putin's war.
"We support the calls of the UN for an immediate ceasefire and massively renewed diplomatic efforts in support of peace talks to reach a settlement to end the war."
While this was happening, Labour town councillor Rizvana Poole was on her way to Poland with former Prime Minister David Cameron.
Cllr Poole founded the Chippy Larder, where Mr Cameron has been volunteering every week for the past two years.
The Larder’s 'Aid for Ukraine' appeal saw thousands of donations come in from people in Chipping Norton and surrounding villages, Banbury and Witney.
Cllr Poole, Mr Cameron and a colleague from the Larder, set off for Poland on Friday, arriving at the Polish Red Cross warehouse late on Sunday night.
Mr Akers added: “We are so pleased to learn that Rizvana and her team safely reached the Red Cross warehouse in Poland at 10pm last night.
“Polish firefighters and Red Cross staff recieved and unloaded the aid which has been donated to assist the Ukrainian refugees fleeing the war.
“Chippy Labour Party is so incredibly proud of Rizvana. This is a fantastic achievement
"We hope she now manages to get some well-earned rest. We are so looking forward to welcoming her back to Chippy and have sent our congratulations and best wishes for a safe journey home"
The Concert for Ukraine takes place on Sunday, March 27, at 6pm at St Kenelm’s Church Enstone.
