Shipston’s Father Christmas has raised more than £1600 for charity.
Organised by the local Rotary Club, Santa Claus went out on to the streets of Shipston each night on the six days building up to Christmas, bringing in £930.69.
Before his tour of the town, Father Christmas could be found in the town centre on December 18 where he was joined by carol singers at the Rotary’s Tree of Life.
The town centre event raised £743.27, taking the grand total to £1,673.96.
A spokesman of Shipston Rotary said: “Although Santa was limited in what he could do this year, he still made lots of friends as he strode majestically ahead of the sleigh waving to the children.
“Everyone, not just Shipston parents and children, were as generous as ever, making their donations to Rotary charities.
“A big thankyou to everyone who supported Shipston Rotary in a year of great difficulties for us all.”
Santa’s sleigh and grotto were made from material provided by Building & Plumbing Supplies of Shipston, fitted on the back of a pick-up truck provided by Unity Cross Roads Garage in Tredington.
