BABY Jesus has been returned to the manger after he was stolen from a nativity scene outside church.
Yesterday police officers said baby Jesus had been taken from a straw-filled wooden crib outside St Mary's Church in Witney, overnight.
Writing on social media, officers from Thames Valley Police's west Oxfordshire division asked: "Please keep your eyes peeled."
They finished the post with a hashtag ‘Happy Christmas’.
Speaking to the Oxford Mail earlier today, The church Reverend Toby Wright said a young person had snatched him from the basket and taken him for a walk.
He explained: "It was wired in but they had yanked it out.
"All is well in the manger again."
Toby Wright said that everybody is welcome for a christmas carol signign service outside on The Green in Witney at 6pm.
