A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a fake gun in the Cotswolds.

Police were called to Bourton-on-the-Water on Thursday, and took a teenage boy into custody.

Cotswolds Police thanked the public for their help in dealing with the incident.

They tweeted: "There was a large police presence in Bourton on the Water yesterday following reports of a teenage male with an imitation firearm.

"One teenage male was arrested and taken to custody.

"We would like to thank the help and support of the public."
