A COLLECTION of nostalgic shots taken in Stow-on-the-Wold have been used to create a charity calendar.
Simon Clarke, an antique dealer from Stow, has used old photographs and postcards to make the calendar, which goes on sale at the end of July.
Proceeds from calendar sales will help raise money for north Cotswolds charity Kate’s Home Nursing, which cares for people with terminal illnesses.
Mr Clarke, who is a member of the Stow and District Civic Society, said: "People have been so generous in allowing me to digitalise their old postcard collections.
"I’ve chosen a really eye-catching and very strong picture on the calendar’s cover that will make people pick it up.
"It’s a group of people on a road trip who’ve stopped off in Stow in May 1932. They’ve parked in the market place and are posing in their Sunday best.
"You can’t help but think about who they were and how their day went."
Mr Clarke hopes to raise at least £5,000 towards the £250,000 Kate’s Home Nursing needs to find each year.
The business he runs with his brother Sean, Christopher Clarke Antiques, has raised more than £50,000 for Kate’s in just over a decade.
One of the first people to be treated, Simon and Sean’s late father Christopher, received palliative care for six weeks before he passed away in 1998.
The calendar, called 'Days Gone By In Stow-on-the-Wold, Kate’s Calendar 2017', will be on sale at businesses in Stow, at Kate’s charity days and also at the Civic Society’s Pop-up Museum in St Edward’s Hall, on Saturday, August 20.
It can also be bought directly from Mr Clarke by emailing simon.stowcivicsociety@gmail.com
