KEEN historians are being given the chance to buy a selection of legal volumes from Gloucestershire County Council.
The volumes are largely decorative and no longer of day to day value to the council's legal team while some are duplicates of volumes held by Gloucestershire Archives.
One of the lots is a George II calf-bound volume containing Acts of Parliament of 1741-1742.
They are being auctioned by Chorleys on Thursday, May 16 at 10.30am at their Upper Salesroom at Prinknash Abbey Park.
Christine Wray, head of legal Services at Gloucestershire County Council, said: “By offering them for sale, collectors with an interest in legal history will get the chance to get hold of some really interesting volumes.
“I’m sure the sale will generate a lot of interest.”
The sales catalogue can now be viewed at simonchorley.com.
