JUS’ Like That, A Night Out with Tommy Cooper is at the Malvern Theatres from next Thursday.
The show is packed with all the legendary performer’s best gags and magic tricks and stars Clive Mantle – star of Casualty, Holby City and The Vicar of Dibley.
The fez, the laugh, the bad jokes and the even worse magic are all present in a fitting tribute to the great man who died on-stage at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London some 25 years ago.
A devout Cooper fan, Mantle has been working with Geoffrey Durham, aka The Great Soprendo, to perfect Tommy’s tricks.
Before your eyes pigeons will appear, bottles will disappear, along with a few other original masterpieces.
Written by John Fisher – who has just finished compiling the new Tommy Cooper Joke Book – and directed by Patrick Ryecart, Mantle joins the team who first put the show on in London’s West End in 2003.
The show runs until Saturday, May 1. Tickets cost between £16 and £20 from 01684 892277, or online at malvern-theatres.co.uk.
