AUDIENCES will be dancing in the aisles when the sounds of the 60s are brought to life at Malvern Theatres this week.
Dreamboats and Petticoats The Musical has been inspired by the popular albums of the same name, the first of which sold more than 600,000 copies last year.
Written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran – the team behind Birds of a Feather and Goodnight Sweetheart – the production revisits a time when each passing week brought another classic hit.
The show follows the highs and lows of teenage love in 1960s Essex. Emotions run high as Norman and Bobby pitch their musical talents against each other in a bid to win the hearts of their adoring female fans, especially Laura.
But when Laura proves she has the makings of a great guitarist, rock ‘n’ roll stardom beckons.
Featuring 40 tracks – including tunes from Roy Orbison, The Shadows and Chuck Berry – the music is linked by a witty script.
The show runs at Malvern Theatres until the end of the week, with the last show taking place on Saturday. Tickets cost from £24.50 to £30.50 and to book call the box office on 01684 892277.
