COTSWOLD people are being encouraged to have their say on food allergy in a new online blog.
The blog - Digest This - has been set up by Gloucestershire County Council in an attempt to pick people’s brains about a number of food-related issues.
Whether food is adequately labelled, whether pubs and restaurants could do more or whether we are just turning into a nation of hypochondriacs is all up for discussion on the site at www.visionfoodhall.com.
The blog will be augmented by advice from professionals, such as allergy consultant Hazel Gowland who works for the Anaphylaxis Campaign, and Cotswold chef Rob Rees has already left his comments.
Eddie Coventry, head of trading standards at Gloucestershire County Council, said: “Our food blog ‘Digest This’ aims to create a forum for local people to have their say on a whole host of food related issues.
“We take food allergy very seriously and when carrying out inspections officers always discuss with local traders the risks to those who suffer from food allergies.
”I would urge everyone to have a say by logging in.”
