A SERIES of art and crafts classes throughout summer with open days and sales of art work in late spring have been organised at Stanton Guildhouse to appeal to all types of art lover.
Classes run from Monday April 13 to Friday July 3 in school term times and include tuition in wood carving, wood turning, furniture restoration, pottery, stained and fired glass, watercolours and mixed media, quilting and print making. Extra workshops and residential summer schools are run in the summer holidays and a quiet day is run once a month.
Open days and sales of art take place on May 19, 20 and 21.
In addition there is a rural read book group meeting once a month on Thursdays and literary talks with Angela Day featuring Othello on June 11 and the poetry of John Donne on August 26.
There will be rag rugs with Jenni Stuart Anderson on May 26 and 27 and wood and stone carving with Dick Onians on August 27 and September 3.
Stanton Guildhouse is a registered charity trust based in a Grade two listed manor house that can sleep up to 15 guests and may be hired for self-catering weekends.
